Multimedia Wireless Networks from a Teletraffic Perspective
نویسنده
چکیده
Emerging ubiquitous telecommunications systems will enableinteractions between various types of device, in both wired and wirelessnetworks, and among Peer-to-Peer (P2P) application overlay networks, thus, evolving into a Ubiquitous-to-Ubiquitous Environment (U2E) infrastructure. This will permit users to build their own ubiquitous communication servicesusing a combination of different P2P communication technologies. Dynamic, heterogeneous and distributed P2P overlay networks will help to create newubiquitous services, through the convergence of communications and highlyadaptive reconfigurable terminals. They will also bring new challenges. In thispaper, we will discuss the evolution of U2E computing, its securityarchitectures, challenges, and proposed solution models. We will discuss theU2E infrastructure, and problems involved in securing ubiquitous environments. Our goal is to discuss U2E evolution, to survey its security issues, establish keyrequirements for its security architectures, and propose feasible security models.

A Fuzzy Based Approach for Rate Control in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks
Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) undergo congestion when a link (or a node) becomes overpopulated in terms of incoming packets. In WMSNs this happens especially in upstream nodes where all incoming packets meet and directed to the sink node. Congestion in networks, if not handled properly, might lead to congestion collapse which deteriorates the quality of service (QoS). Therefore, i...
متن کاملA Survey on Multicast Routing Approaches in Wireless Mesh Networks
Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) which mediates the broadband Internet access, have been recently received many attentions by the researchers. In order to increase capacity in these networks, nodes are equipped with multiple radios tuned on multiple channels emerging multi radio multi-channel WMNs (MRMC WMNs). Therefore, a vital challenge that poses in MRMC WMNs is how to properly assign channels ...
متن کاملCOST 257 MID-TERM SEMINAR INTERIM REPORT ON WIRELESS COMMUNICATION The Impact of Wireless Communication on Broadband Network Architecture and Performance
Right at the beginning of the century of telecommunications the Negroponte Switch is in full swing: ”the information currently coming through the ground (read, wire) will come in future through the ether, and the reverse” (Negroponte 1995). The reason is that the transmission bandwidth of modern fiber lines is virtually unlimited while spectrum is not. Facing the ever increasing demand for univ...
متن کاملAssessment of Channel Unavailability Effect on the Wireless Networks Teletraffic Modeling and Analysis
Whereas cellular wireless communication systems are subject to short-and long-term fading. The effect of wireless channel has largely been ignored in most of the teletraffic assessment researches. In this paper, a mathematical teletraffic model is proposed to estimate blocking and forced termination probabilities of cellular wireless networks as a result of teletraffic behavior as well as the o...
متن کاملAn efficient symmetric polynomial-based key establishment protocol for wireless sensor networks
An essential requirement for providing secure services in wireless sensor networks is the ability to establish pairwise keys among sensors. Due to resource constraints on the sensors, the key establishment scheme should not create significant overhead. To date, several key establishment schemes have been proposed. Some of these have appropriate connectivity and resistance against key exposure, ...
